5 Thoughts You'll have after Watching 'The Tiger King' on Netflix
Okay folks...If you haven't binged 'The Tiger King' on Netflix, you are seriously missing out.... I don't know exactly what it is that you're missing out on, as I'm honestly still trying to figure it out myself, but what I can tell you is that you will never see anything else like it for the rest of your life.
I don't know if I should admit this to the internet, but in the week since the docuseries has been released, I've binged it in its entirety twice, and I may or may not be watching it as I type this... don't judge me.. 🤷♀️
I am just so freaking fascinated. I'm captivated. I'm confused as f*ck. I am so many things, half of which I can't even begin to describe.
But what I do know is that if you're anything like me, you'll have some real interesting thoughts after watching...
Before I jump into those thoughts, I'll give you a little background on the off chance that you haven't spent 6 hours of your life watching 'The Tiger King' yet. Don't worry, I'll hold back on any spoilers!
'The Tiger King' is a Netflix docuseries about the wild business of breeding and selling big exotic cats. The series follows a few major players but focuses on Joe Exotic, an interesting and eccentric bro with one hell of a life story. What begins as a wildlife docuseries takes so many twists and turns it's almost hard to keep up. Consider your mind blown.
Here are some of the thoughts you're sure to have after watching 'The Tiger King':
1. I guess I'm more normal than I thought
Never knew all I needed was a f*cked up tv show to give me the comfortable feeling of being normal. I've never seen such a bizarre cast of characters. Hell, we're in the middle of a freaking pandemic, but I swear for those 6ish hours I was transported to an alternate dimension. I may be a bit odd, but I've got both my arms, all my teeth, only one husband, and I don't eat expired meat off a Walmart truck. I think I'm doin okay 🤷♀️
2. I will never look at Zoo employees the same ever again
The whole zoological field has been ruined for me. I'm sorry but there are just some things that you just can't unsee... I will never be able to picture a zoo employee without having flashes of sequined shirts, blonde mullets, animal prints, or missing appendages. In all honesty, I respect anyone who works in any capacity with wildlife, it is such wonderful and rewarding work, but I'm just scared for life. Those images are imprinted in my brain forever.
3. Don't f*ck with cats
Holy hell. Those cats are MASSIVE. A human stands ZERO chance in front of a full grown lion or tiger. Anyone who chooses to approach one of these beauties deserves their fate. Yep I said it. I have no sympathy. Why would anyone in their right mind even want to take their chances? Oh yeah, I guess that goes back to my first thought, these people are NOT normal...
4. Who the hell killed Carole's husband?!?
I can't even imagine the thrill of the documentary film makers when they uncovered this hot little tid bit. Talk about a jackpot. Every juicy story has a murder mystery right? But for real...who the hell killed Carole's husband?!?! I need closure! We need a docuseries that solves the crime next! How can this lingering question remain unanswered??? I mean in my personal opinion, Carol totally fed that guy to her cats... But I need cold hard facts! Will I ever have the sweet satisfaction of knowing the answer?
5. Damn oral health is so important
Alright....I'm just going to come out and say it... every time Joe's first husband came on the screen I'd run my tongue along my teeth to make sure they were still there... I know I can't be the only one... Be honest people.. If that's not enough to scare you into saying no to drugs, I honestly don't know what is... I will give a little spoiler here though, it looks like Joe Exotic's ex hubby got a fresh new set of chompers and that guy is looking good these days... Google it and thank me later..

So there are my top 5 thoughts... I could probably ramble for days about all the weird thoughts this show made me have, but then you'd have no time to go back and re-watch!
